Cuatro Bailes

Cuatro Bailes is a multichannel video installation that made it’s debut at the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts. Four large screens immerse the viewer in a series of vignettes filmed in Hartford and Puerto Rico. The work is threaded by a progression of improvised dances between two lovers. Their movements change in rhythm with bomba music and takes us through dream sequences and documentary footage of the island, post-hurricane Maria.

Little Liberia

This short documentary explores the vibrant history of Little Liberia, a once thriving outpost of the underground railroad—in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Little Liberia was home to a prosperous community of freed people of color—and of the many structures and buildings that stood, only two houses remain. This project was commissioned by the Mary & Eliza Freeman Center, a non-profit fighting to preserve the legacy of Little Liberia.
